def. to roam, wander, or move through forests without a fixed
destination.
I found myself alone in a remote house in Finland during a period of emotional turbulence. Confronted with the separation from
a loved one, I turned to nature to process and understand my
feelings. The solitude led me to question myself. As I wandered
through the forest, I allowed my emotions to roam freely and
safely.
A strong standing tree, a single fragile flower, or a cut open tree
trunk became reflections of myself. I saw what I felt. Like an abstract mirrored inkblot, my perception reflected my inner landscape, revealing states that are otherwise difficult to grasp. It offered
a sense of comfort through a quiet understanding between nature
and myself, even in moments of anger, fragility, heaviness, and
pain. Each photograph visualizes one of these emotions.
