Building a Future



„If I flush toxic waste in the toilet the plants in my garden will die“, - said Nikolaj, as we talked in the living room. He lives in a small temporary house, built out of ship containers, with his wife and tree childeren.

People in Friland live their life differently compared to the average person. They build their own sustainable houses, clean their waste water, have gardens and farm animals. Nikolaj and his family are now building their dream house out of straw and clay.

They believe that when you sustain a healthy realtionships and state of mind you are also able make the world more sustainable. Nikolaj aims for a life where he has more time for family, can inspire others, dream big and be happy.

The danish word for sustainability is bæredygtighed. It also means to be able to carry yourself and the world. This is what Nikolaj and his familiy want to achieve.
